All of the construction work is leading to the closure in August of the section ofJuniper Roadthat bisects the Notre Dame campus. A three-year negotiation process among the University, area government officials and the general public led to a vote in June 2004 by the St. Joseph County Council to close Juniper through campus and realign part of Angela Boulevard. As a part of the negotiations, the University agreed to build a new north-south roadway on the eastern edge of the campus.
