A Midsummer Night's Dream

Shakespeare at Notre Dame and Actors From The London Stage (AFTLS) will present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” from Sept. 8 to 10 (Wednesday to Friday) at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Notre Dame’s Washington Hall.

Admission is $20 for the general public, $18 for senior citizens, and $12 for students. Tickets are available in advance at the University’s DeBartolo Performing Arts Center ticket office by calling 574-631-2800 or visiting http://performingarts.nd.edu.

One of Shakespeare’s most beloved and enduring comedies, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed by five professional actors from London’s most prestigious stages as they bring to life every role in this family-friendly tale of love and mischief.

Based in London and produced on campuses throughout the nation by Shakespeare at Notre Dame, AFTLS sends a new self-directed ensemble of five professional actors to the United States twice a year to universities across the nation.AFTLS, whose members hail from such prestigious theater companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre of Great Britain and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, has called Notre Dame its American home since 2000.

In addition to AFTLS, Shakespeare at Notre Dame also consists of the McMeel Family Chair in Shakespeare Studies, the Ryan Producing Artistic Director, the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival, ancillary lectures and events, and library collections. Its mission is to become the pre-eminent venue for the study and performance of the works of Shakespeare, providing Notre Dame and the wider community an on-campus culture steeped in the works of Shakespeare both on the page and on the stage.
