The University of Notre Dame’s John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology and Values will host a conference May 10 to 12 (Monday to Wednesday) on regulation of nanomaterials.

Titled “Toward Regulation of Nanomaterials: A Conversation between Academia, Industry, Law and Government,” the conference will be held in McKenna Hall.

A variety of professors, attorneys and business people from across the country will make presentations at the conference.

The conference will address such issues as the definition of nanomaterials, whether size should be the dominant basis for considering regulation, what other characteristics might be considered, whether nano devices used in the human body should be regulated, and whether current toxicity studies are adequate for evaluating nanomaterials.

Although the conference sessions are free and open to the public, advanced registration and payment are required to attend the optional meals during the conference.

More information on the conference can be found on the Web at reilly.nd.edu/Conference/Nanomaterials.
