Donald P. Kommers, Joseph and Elizabeth Robbie Professor of Political Science and professor of law at the University of Notre Dame, will testify Wednesday (June 25) before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution regarding the reconstruction of constitutional government in Germany and its pertinence to contemporary Iraq.p. A member of the Notre Dame faculty since 1963, Kommers teaches courses on constitutional law, the Supreme Court, and European legal institutions. He is the author of 10 books and numerous essays and articles on German politics and American, German and comparative public law. His most recent book, “Red, Black, and Gold: Germany’s Constitutional Odyssey” will be published this year.p.
