Teachers from South Bend and Mishawaka public and private elementary, middle and high schools will become students themselves in the coming months as they join the Spring 2001 seminar series Teachers as Scholars at the University of Notre Dame.p. Teachers as Scholars brings kindergarten-through-12th -grade teachers into the university classroom and into seminars whose engaging scholarly content returns participants to the role of learner. The program deliberately steps away from the teacher-training focus on teaching tools, and aims, instead, to refresh each teacher’s love of learning.p.
