Yenupini Joyce Adams is an Assistant Professor of the Practice and the Global Maternal Research Lead for the Eck Institute for Global Health at the University of Notre Dame. She has spent years studying and researching the issue of maternal mortality.

"Some of the direct causes would be related to issues with blood pressure, hypertension, hemorrhage, sepsis, infection, but then also a big chunk of it is because of access to care and quality of care," said Adams.

Led by Yenupini Joyce Adams, a professor who oversees maternal and child health issues at Notre Dame’s Eck Institute for Global Health, the pilot program will connect mothers to ongoing care and support.

Yenupini Joyce Adams, an assistant professor at both the Eck Institute for Global Health and the Keough School of Global Affairs, received $65,000 from Health First St. Joseph County to create the Pop Up Pregnancy & Family Village, the university said in a news release.
