In an annual rite of passage, a group of University of Notre Dame students took the plunge and jumped into the icy waters of Saint Joseph Lake on the Notre Dame campus on Feb. 23, 2013. Not only was it a “bonding experience,” participants also were raising money for the HOPE Initiative, a charity in Nepal that promotes education and operates an orphanage.
