The University of Notre Dame’s Moreau Academic Diversity Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is accepting applications for two-year research, teaching and mentoring opportunities for scholars who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Represent populations that are historically underrepresented in American higher education, including women and minority groups
- Conduct research focusing on gender or ethnic groups
- Engage in interdisciplinary research projects that aspire to enhance cultural competency and diversity within the American educational landscape with an interest in exploring the implications of such work for liberal education in the Catholic tradition
- Have track records of involvement in initiatives aimed at promoting diversity in higher education through teaching
Fellows will devote their time to research and will teach two courses each year, including one in their area of specialization and one core undergraduate offering for their home academic departments. They also will participate in mentoring initiatives geared toward long-term professional development and evaluation for potential appointment to a faculty position at Notre Dame.
Candidates should submit a cover letter outlining their primary field of expertise and a description of how he or she will contribute to the perspective and intellectual diversity of the University; a proposed plan for research to be undertaken during the fellowship, not to exceed five pages; three letters of recommendation, including one from the dissertation adviser; and a curriculum vitae to moreauscholars@nd.edu.
The application deadline is Nov. 1.
The Moreau Fellowship Program is named in honor of Blessed Basil Moreau, C.S.C., founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Notre Dame’s founding religious community.
