The University of Notre Dame has received more than $1.5 million in cash and estate commitments from Alfred C. DeCrane, Jr., former chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Texaco, Inc., to establish a scholarship fund in honor of his wife, Joan Hoffman DeCrane, a Saint Mary’s College graduate who has shared in his active involvement and support of the University over the years.p.
