Theodore J. Cachey Jr., professor of Romance languages and literatures at the University of Notre Dame, has received the 2002 Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Publication Award from the Modern Language Association.p. The award honors Cachey’s book “Petrarch’s Guide to the Holy Land” as the outstanding manuscript in Italian literary studies and was presented at the MLA’s annual convention Dec. 28 in New York City. The publisher, University of Notre Dame Press, also was recognized.p.
