Recent graduate earns top CPA score in the nation

Joseph Rutledge, who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 and ‘02, has won the Elijah Watts Sells Gold Award for attaining the highest score in the nation on last year’s Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination.p. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants recognizes the three CPA candidates with the top scores on the exam with gold, silver and bronze awards that are named in honor of Elijah Watts Sells, a founding partner of Haskins&Sells, a predecessor of Deloitte&Touche LLP.p.
