100 Best Places to Work in IT

University of Notre Dame ranks No. 25 among large organizations in Computerworld Best Places to Work in IT, an annual ranking of the top 100 organizations that challenge their information technology staffs while providing great benefits and compensation.

The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

“I am so proud that Notre Dame is recognized for a second year in a row. We have extraordinary people who continue to deliver amazing work. But all of that great work is only possible because we spend time focusing on our people. Everyone at Notre Dame provides us with an environment where people want to do their best work,” said Ronald Kraemer, vice president for information technology & chief information and digital officer.

Notre Dame’s Office of Information Technologies (OIT) works collaboratively with other IT staff throughout the University to support all faculty, staff and students. The OIT’s vision is to enhance and sustain service excellence in five key areas: teaching and learning, research and scholarship, campus life, University operations and support for Notre Dame’s Catholic mission. To do this, they focus on delivering value, driving innovation and developing their staff.

“Hiring the best and the brightest IT pros, offering them competitive pay and providing top-notch benefits is just the beginning for the outstanding employers on this year’s Best Places to Work in IT list,” said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. “Both newcomers to the list and rock-steady stalwarts nurture their talent with challenging business-critical projects, extensive training opportunities and ongoing career development programs. They invest in their own futures by investing in their employees.”
