“Chicago” to perform Saturday with Notre Dame Marching Band

The musical groupChicagowill join theUniversityofNotre Dame Marching Bandon the field for a halftime performance during the Notre Dame-University ofNorth Carolinafootball game on Saturday (Nov. 4).

The marching band will incorporate the music ofChicagointo the show, which will feature original band members James Pankow, trombone; Lee Loughnane, trumpet; Robert Lamm, keyboard; and Walt Parazaider, saxophone; along with current members Bill Champlin, organ; Jason Scheff, bass; Larry Klimas, saxophone; Tris Imboden, drums; and Keith Howland, guitar.

Chicago,which also will perform in concert Saturday night atSouth BendsMorrisPerformingArtsCenter, was formed in 1967 inChicago. One of the groups original mentors, the late Rev. George Wiskirchen, C.S.C., served as assistant director of bands at Notre Dame from 1972 to 2001 and maintained a close connection between the Notre Dame Band and the recording group, whose hit singles includeSaturday in the Park,Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?andWishing You Were Here.The bands manager is Peter Schivarelli, a 1971 Notre Dame graduate. **
