Gerard F. Baumbach, former executive vice president and publisher for William H. Sadlier, Inc., has been appointed director of catechetical initiatives in the University of Notre Dame’s Institute for Church Life (ICL).p. Baumbach worked at Sadlier, a 171-year-old publishing company based in New York City, for the last 25 years. During his career there he was responsible for the development of several catechetical and educational programs, including Sadler’s recent “We Believe,” a program based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church and designed for parochial school and other children in kindergarten through sixth grade.p.
