Stephen R. Schmid, associate professor of aerospace and mechanical engineering at the University of Notre Dame, is one of nine individuals selected to receive the 2000 John T. Parsons Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award. Conferred each year by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the award recognizes the significant achievements and leadership of young engineers in the field of manufacturing and engineering. Schmid will be honored later this year at the North American Manufacturing Research Conference in Lexington, Ky.p.
