FTT season brings five performances to campus stages

The University of Notre Dames Department of Film, Television and Theatre (FTT) 2007-08 theater season features five plays, beginning with William ShakespearesMacbeth,performed by international touring troupe Actors From The London Stage, from Sept. 12 to 14 (Wednesday to Friday) at 7:30 p.m. in Washington Hall.

The remaining plays in the FTT season are:

  • Savage in Limbo,by John Patrick Shanley, Oct. 8 to 12 at 7:30 p.m., Philbin Studio Theatre. Directed byFTT associate professional specialist Siiri Scott.
  • A Bright Room Called Day,by Tony Kushner, Nov. 13 to 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 18 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., Decio Mainstage Theatre. Directed by FTT assistant professor Robin Witt.
  • The Taming of the Shrew,by Shakespeare, performed by Actors From The London Stage, Jan. 23 to 25 at 7:30 p.m., Washington Hall.
  • The Tragical History of Doctor Faustus,by Christopher Marlowe, April 8 to 19, dates and times vary, Decio Mainstage Theatre. Directed by FTT professor Anton Juan.

Actors From The London Stage has called Notre Dame its American home since 2000, when it relocated from the University of North Carolina. Its members hail from such prestigious theater companies as the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, among others.
