Special recognition ceremonies for Latino, Asian and Pacific Islander, Native American and African-American members of the University of Notre Dames graduating class will be held May 18 to 20 (Friday to Sunday) on campus.
The Latino Recognition Ceremony will take place at7 p.m.Friday in Washington Hall.Antonio Ortiz, a 1998 Notre Dame graduate, will address 40 graduating Latino seniors and their families and friends.
The Asian and Pacific Islander Recognition Ceremony will be held at1 p.m.Saturday in the Annenberg Auditorium of the Snite Museum of Art.Trung D. Tu, a 1995 graduate and outgoing president of the Asian Pacific Alumni of Notre Dame Board of Directors, will speak to the assembly, which will include 45 graduating seniors.
The Native American Recognition Ceremony/Dinner, at which five students will be honored, will take place at7 p.m.Saturday in Room 200 of theMainBuilding.
The African-American Recognition Ceremony will be held at8:30 a.m.Sunday in Washington Hall.Alvin Tillery, assistant professor of political science, will address the 62 African-American seniors and their families and friends.
The special recognition ceremonies have been organized by the Universitys Multicultural Student Programs and Services.
