Michael Zuckert, Nancy Reeves Dreux Professor of Political Science, delivered the most recent lecture in the University of Notre Dames Saturday Scholar Series,Completing the Constitution: The 14 th Amendment,on October 21.His presentation addressed James Madisons concerns that the Constitution somehow lacked features essential to its success, and how the idea ofcompleting the Constitutionprovides the key to understanding the 14 th Amendment – an important but controversial addition.
