The following is a statement from Notre Dame’s president, Rev. Edward A. Malloy, C.S.C., regarding today’s Supreme Court rulings on the role of race in university and college admissions policy.

“We at Notre Dame are gratified by the Supreme Court’s reaffirmation of long standing practices here and elsewhere that consider race as one of several factors in the admission of students. We believe strongly in the benefit that a diverse student body brings to us all, and we are committed to continuing our efforts in achieving that goal.”
