Kenneth C. Ricci
Kenneth C. Ricci and Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C., have been elected to the University of Notre Dame’s Board of Trustees, and Joseph I. O’Neill III and William J. Shaw have been elected to emeritus status.
A Notre Dame graduate, Ricci has spent more than 30 years developing innovative services in the aviation industry. He is the principal of Directional Aviation Capital, which operates a family of private aviation companies, including Flexjet, Flight Options, Sentient Jet, Skyjet, Nextant Aerospace, Constant Aviation and Corporate Wings.
The author of “Management by Trust,” a book that features practical techniques for building employee trust and success, Ricci has been honored as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and received the William Ong Memorial Award for meritorious service to the aviation industry, as well as the Harvard Business School’s Dively Entrepreneurship Award. He has served on Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business Advisory Council and numerous other boards.
Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C.
Father Ryan has served since 2011 as the ninth president of King’s College, a Congregation of Holy Cross institution located in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He previously was dean of the William G. McGowan School of Business at King’s. After graduating from college he held a variety of accounting and management positions for 13 years with Gilbert/Commonwealth Associates Inc. in Reading, Pennsylvania. He was ordained a Holy Cross priest in 1990.
Father Ryan has published and presented on ethics, leadership, job autonomy and the moral dimensions of Catholic education. He is a member of the boards of Stonehill College and the University of Portland, both, like King’s and Notre Dame, founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross.
O’Neill, a member of the Board since 2001, is managing partner of O’Neill Properties in Midland, Texas. Shaw was elected to the Board in 1997 and is chairman of the board of Marriott Vacations Worldwide.
Also joining the Board in an ex officio capacity as the president-elect of the Alumni Association is Monique Caron. She has served for the past seven years as a green building specialist and project manager for the U.S. Green Building Council in Washington, D.C.
