Medical ethicist to speak on human cloning

Dr. Mark Siegler, Lindy Bergman Distinguished Service Professor at the University of Chicago and director of the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics, will give a lecture entitled “The Science and Politics of Cloning: What a Difference a Year Makes,” at 4 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 19) in the University of Notre Dame’s McKenna Hall auditorium.p. An honors graduate of Princeton University, Siegler received his medical degree in 1967 from the University of Chicago. He was intern, resident and chief resident in medicine at the University of Chicago Hospitals before 1984, when he was appointed director of the newly established Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. The center has trained more than 120 physicians and nurses, many of whom now direct programs at leading U.S. and Canadian medical schools.p.
