The University of Notre Dame has joined the American Academy of Arts and Sciences as a University Affiliate, a designation that signals the University’s support of the academy’s new Visiting Scholar Center (VSC).p. Scheduled to open in the fall, the VSC seeks to encourage promising young scholars and practitioners and their innovative and multidisciplinary research. Three core content areas have been identified for the inaugural year: science, technology, and global security; social policy and education, and humanities and culture. The academy’s headquarters in Cambridge, Mass. will serve as the program’s base.p.
