“Monk’s March,” a 2-mile walk for University of Notre Dame employees led by Notre Dame’s president, Rev. Edward A. “Monk” Malloy, C.S.C., will highlight the University’s celebration May 23 (Tuesday) of National Employee Health&Fitness Day.p. The walk around campus will begin at 12:15 p.m. on the Field House Mall outside LaFortune Student Center and will include optional blood pressure checkups and a light lunch. (In case of rain, the walk and lunch will move inside the Loftus Sports Center.) Employees can register for the walk by calling 631-5965 or by email at recsports@nd.edu no later than May 17 (Wednesday).p. Other activities planned for the celebration include putting contests on the green next to the Rockne Memorial building from 10:15-11:45 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.; basketball shooting contests on the Stepan courts from 2:15-3:45 p.m.; and a strength equipment orientation session from 5:30-6:15 p.m. at the Rolfs Sports Recreation Center.p. The day’s events are cosponsored by the Department of Human Resources’ IRISHealth program, RecSports, University Food Services, University Health Services, and Notre Dame Security/Police.
