The first event of the University of Notre Dame’s new Shakespeare Initiative will begin next week when five British Shakespearean actors start a two-week residency to teach and perform on campus and at high schools and other institutions of higher education in the South Bend area. The Shakespeare Initiative also includes an annual summer Shakespeare festival, an endowed chair in performance and dramatic literature, and an endowed fund to bring Shakespearean lecturers and performers to campus.p.
