Areas of Expertise
The Pope, the papacy
McGrath-Cavadini Director of the Institute for Church Life, Cavadini, as a theological scholar, specializes in patristic and early medieval theology, the theology of Augustine and the history of biblical and patristic exegesis, but his faith and conviction enable him to speak clearly and compellingly about all aspects of religious belief in general and the Catholic Church in particular. Often and widely consulted by Church leaders, ministers, and teachers, he has recently become deeply interested in and active on behalf of the development of theological education in the Catholic Church of Africa. The author of several books in his chosen discipline, Cavadini also writes essays, articles and reviews in popular journals.
