The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival will perform the playwright’s “The Merchant of Venice” from August 16 through the 28. The play, directed by David Bell, begins with Bassanio’s quest for Portia. When plans go awry, betrayal and blind anger strike, leaving all to question justice, the power of love and how far all are prepared to go to belong.
Performances begin on Tuesday, August 16 at 7:30 p.m. with a final performance on Sunday, August 28 at 2:00 p.m. All performances will be held at the Decio Theatre in the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.
Tickets range from $12 to $35 with special pricing for the performance’s Opening Night Celebration on Thursday, August 18.
